In our line of work, people get pretty skeptical that they can contribute anything to ending a conflict. For those of us (most of us) who find keeping a roof over our head, food in our bellies and getting a certain amount of enjoyment out things along the way a pretty good challenge, I present for your use an idea.
Ideas have long been a far better tool of revolution than any stick, stone or rocket propelled grenade. Just take, for example, a few of our personal favorites:

Mountainous road building is challenging and often environmentally destructive. However, this need not be so. The mountainous regions in China provide a good template for understanding how road infrastructure can be developed in both a cheaper and environmentally friendly way.

What if I told you that one of today's most appalling issues is something believed to have ended over one hundred years ago? What if I told you that something considered an abomination for hundreds of years is now being played out at a magnitude hundreds of times greater?

More than five years after the end of the civil war that was responsible for the deaths of more than 13,000 people, the UN peacekeeping mission to the country is leaving. The UN peacekeeping mission was stationed in Nepal to monitor the aftermath of the signing of the 2006 Comprehensive Peace Agreement which ended the ten year war, abolished the monarchy, allowed the Maoists into government, and disarmed them.

I returned safely from Israel-Palestine on Saturday night. Upon leaving the country, I was questioned about my trip, my travels to Arab countries, and my name and family heritage. A few of us had to unpack our suitcases for extra screening, but all in all we made it through without too much trouble.

Monday morning we awoke to the news that the Free Gaza flotilla bearing humanitarian supplies to Gaza had been attacked by the Israeli military, and some of those accompanying the flotilla had been killed. Later that day, in Ramallah in the West Bank, we attended a peaceful protest against this Israeli military action and in solidarity with those who were killed.

Jerusalem (CNN) -- The Israeli government said Thursday it will stop a convoy of cargo and passenger ships filled with supplies and headed to Gaza to break a blockade imposed by Israel in 2007.
Government officials said Wednesday they have given the Israeli Defense Forces instructions to reroute the flotilla to Ashdod port in Israel, where the supplies will be unloaded and transferred to Gaza.
Mark Regev, an Israeli government spokesman, called the flotilla "a cheap political stunt."

The most important thing for peace is to help everyone want it, and encourage people to believe it is possible. Gandhi said: The cry for peace will be a cry in the wilderness, so long as the spirit of nonviolence does not dominate millions of men and women. And thus it is. World leaders can create peace for a moment, with treaties or agreements, but unless the hearts of the people desire and are committed to peace, it will only last a moment. And if the hearts of the people are committed to peace, then world leaders will be powerless to stop it.

-Washington Post, 16 May 2010 In Mishor Adumim, a bougainvillea-lined industrial zone inside this
West Bank Jewish settlement, at least 17 businesses have closed since
Palestinians began boycotting its products several months ago.
For the Israelis, it's "an insufferable situation," according to Avi
Elkayam, who represents the settlement's 300 factory owners. But for
Palestinians, it might be the strategy they have been looking for.
